Who are our local Police Officers?

Our telephone kiosk is about to under go a refit. We will be putting a back board in and 2 shelves. The back board will hopefully be used by the school children to display work on. The 2 shelves will be used as a book swap service. Parishioners will be encouraged to take a book to read and leave an old book in it's place.

All work will start as soon as the winter weather passes.

Selby Police Community Support Officer, Laura Simpson is the latest officer from North Yorkshire Police to keep in touch with    her local community through Twitter.
Twitter is an online social networking service and micro blogging service that enables users to send and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters known as tweets.

She will be providing regular updates about policing events, crime and general information about issues relevant to her beat.

PCSO Simpson said: “Communicating with local people is key in helping to prevent and detect crime. We use many ways to communicate with our communities, it is important that we use all available means to reach as many people as possible"

“Twitter is a great way of getting information out to residents quickly and concisely, and it doesn’t cost anything.”
